How to add a Smartplan widget to your phone

In this article, we will go through how you can add and edit our Smartplan widget on:


No matter which device you are using, you will be able to have the following information shown in your widget:

  1. Your next shift - including date, time span and position
  2. Number of shift swap requests or available shifts with your positions
  3. Colleagues who are working in the same time span as you are (this requires the largest widget size)


How to add widgets to your iPhone/iPad

If you want to add our widget to your device, you have to do the following:

  • Touch and hold on the homescreen until your apps start to jiggle
  • Press the button “+” in the top, left corner
  • Find Smartplan in the overview and choose which widget size you would like
  • Finish by pressing “Done” in the top, right corner or a random place on the homescreen

You can also add your widget to the overview “Today”. In order to do so, you have to follow the same steps as described above. The only difference is that you have to be on the “Today” overview, when you start.


If you want to edit your widget, you simply have to touch and hold on it. Then you will be able to choose “Edit widget” and you can then make all the changes you would like to. To finish editing, simply press a random place next to your widget.


You can also change the location of your widget, if you want to. Again, you simply touch and hold on it until it starts to jiggle. Then you can move it to the location on the homescreen you would like.



How to add widgets to your Android phone

If you want to add our widget to your device, you have to do the following:

  1. Touch and hold the icon of the Smartplan App on the homescreen.
  2. Choose “Widgets” in the pop-up that appears.

  1. Choose your preferred widget size and click on "Add".

  2. Next, move it the desired location on the homescreen and, if needed, adjust its size by dragging the handles on the sides of the widget.

You can always edit the size of your widget afterwards. To do so, you simply have to touch and hold on it until the handles at the side of the widget reappear.
