Plan your first week
At the moment you at least have an empty schedule (maybe you have already added shifts in it) and you have at least created one employee, besides from yourself.
Let us try planning the first week. Find the day you want to start with and click “Add shifts”:
A shift belongs within a specific period of time. The period defines when the shifts start and end, if it is a closing shift and if the shifts have a non-paid break. A period can include either one or several shifts.
It should not be that difficult. Let us take a look at it:
In this example, I have created a shift from 13:00 - 17:00. The shift has no break and the job-position is “Bartender”. I have given this shift to Jessica. If you need more shifts in this specific period of time, you can just add another shift:
You do not have to assign the shift an employee when you create it. You can always assign them later on:
If you click on “Create” your week will now look like this:
Now we have created an available shift. It is easy to man an unassigned shift. Just click on the shift, choose an employee and click “Save shift”:
Let us repeat Jessicas shift the rest of the week. You can save a lot of clicks by copying a period. Just place your mouse over the period of time and click on the “copy” icon:
Now, you can just click on the days that you want to copy this period to:
I have chosen to copy the period to all days except the weekend and therefore, the schedule now looks like this:
Well done! The next step is now to try and publish the rota. It might seem unfair that Jessica has to work this much, but you can easily change this later. Now you have to experience the magic of having an online rota.
It is time to publish the rota.
